Filmmaker Nithilan Saminathan is set to make a female-driven movie next, and he has approached Nayanthara for the lead role, according to sources in the Tamil film industry.
The buzz is that the movie has been titled Maharani. However, an official confirmation is still awaited.
Nithilan has emerged as the toast of the Tamil film industry following the blockbuster success of his latest movie, Maharaja . Starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role, Maharaja became one of the highest-grossing movies of 2024, earning more than Rs 100 crore in ticket sales.

Soon after Maharaja's success, the who's who of the Tamil film industry congratulated Nithilan. Superstar Rajinikanth and Thalapathy Vijay were among the high-profile stars who publicly endorsed Nithilan, contributing to the film's continued success.
