Mammooty's first big release of the year, Christopher has just completed seven days at the box office and has only managed to gross around 5 crores against a budget of 19 crores.

The Movie received mixed responses from audiences and critics, calling the movie predictable and not up to the standard of the recent crop of hit movies from the megastar

The movie is directed by B. Unnikrishnan marking the first time Mammootty has worked with the director. The script for the movie is written by the director's long-time collaborator Udaykrishna.

Many Mammootty fans had questioned the actor's choice of working with B. Unnikrishnan and UdayKrishna, both of whom had a disastrous run at the box office last year, with movies like Monster and Aaraattu and it seems their fear has been justified.

The cast of the movie includes Vinay Rai, Amala Paul, Sarath Kumar, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Shine Tom Chacko, and Sneha.

Thankfully Mammootty has a lot of projects lined up this year including the upcoming Kaathal: The Core and Kadugannawa Oru Yatra.

The actor will also be playing a major in the upcoming Telugu action flick Agent, in which he will be starring alongside Akhil Akkineni and directed by Surender Reddy.

However, the most anticipated movie that has fans hyped is the sequel to his 2007 blockbuster Big B, which will have an official announcement soon.

Big B was director Amla Neerad's directorial debut and his first collaboration with Mammootty, the movie was based on the 2004 Hollywood movie 'Four Brothers'.

In the movie, Mammootty plays Bilal, who returns to his hometown to find out the truth about his foster mother's untimely death.

The first big hit Malayalam movie of 2023, is the horror-comedy Romanchan, which was released without much fanfare but has become a massive success having grossed around 30 crores at the box office against a budget of 3 crores.

The movie is written and directed by Jithu Madhavan and stars Soubin Shahir, Arjun Ashokan, Chemban Vinod Jose, Asim Jamal, and Anantharaman Ajay.

The movie is produced by Johnpaul George, Soubin Shahir, and Girish Gangadharan. The cinematography is handled by Sanu Thahir, The music by Sushin Shyam and the editng by Kiran Das.
