    The 94th Annually Academy Awards are going to take place this month on the 27th of March. The show will feature multiple hosts for the first time since the 83th Academy awards which were co-hosted by actors James Franco and Anne Hathaway .

    The Academy of Motion Picture Art and Science was founded in May 1927 in Beverly Hills, California and today boasts of over 9900 members across the world.

    The One Silent Movie to Win

    The one silent movie to take home the award for best picture as well being the first ever to win was the 1928 classic Wings, which told the story of two pilots during World War One, directed by William A. Wellman the movie was made with a budget of two million dollars.

    The Most Nominations

    Walt Disney has the record of the most number of nominations than anyone else, he as had 64 nominations and won 26, music composer John Willians is in second place with 47 nominations.

    The Movie With The Most Nominations

    The first movie with the most number of nominations was the 1950s classic drama All About Eve with a whopping 14 nominations and was later tied by the 1997 movie Titanic which ended by winning 11.

    The First Color Movie to Win

    The first color movie to win an Oscar was Gone with the Wind in 1940, the movie was a massive critical and commercial hit, and is still the highest-grossing movie of all time when adjusted to inflation.

    The Top Winners

    Only three movies have won all five of the most coveted awards that include best picture, director, actor, actress, and writing they are - It Happened in One Night in 1935, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest in 1976, and Silence of the Lambs in 1992.

    Katharine Hepburn is the actress with the most Oscar wins with four and Clint Eastwood is the male actor with the most with a total of four, interestingly enough he has never won an Oscar for acting instead two for best director and two for best picture.

    The Youngest and Oldest Oscar Winners

    The youngest person to ever win an Oscar was ten-year-old actress Tatum O'Neal for best-supporting actress for her performance in Paper Moon. The oldest person to win is actress Jessica Tandy at 81 for her performance in Driving Miss Daisy.

    First Female Director to Win

    Kathryn Bigelow was the first-ever female director to win the best director category for her 2010 movie Hurt Locker based on the Iraq War. At the time she was only the fourth ever female director to receive the nomination.

    The Cheapest Movie to Win Best Picture

    While Hollywood is known for making movies with huge budgets, the quality of the movie is in how it is made, The Hurt Locker is the cheapest movie to win the Oscar for best picture with a budget of 15 million, the movie was nominated for nine categories winning six.
