Shaitaan Box Office Day 2: Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan's supernatural film continues its golden run, earns THIS much

After opening to an impressive start, Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan’s supernatural film continues its golden run at the box office. The film opened at Rs 14.75 crore at the box office on its first day. According to early estimates, the film has enjoyed an upward graph and a decent occupancy on its first Saturday.

According to a news report in Sacnilk, on its second day, Shaitaan has earned Rs 16.01 crore. The total collections of the movie now stand at Rs 30.76 crore. The supernatural drama had a total occupancy of 27.92%. Owing to positive word of mouth, the film can see a further improvement in the collections. It will be interesting to see whether the film manages to go steady until the next two big releases namely Yodha and Crew.

Shaitaan revolves around a family whose world turns upside down when a mysterious and dangerous stranger invades their fun getaway. Things turn even further sinister when he hypnotizes the family’s teenage daughter. The movie then showcases how the helpless parents save their daughter from the shackles of this terrorizing monster and his ulterior motives.

The movie has been directed by Vikas Bahl. It also stars Jyotika and Janki Bodiwala in the lead roles. The film is a Hindi remake of the Gujarati film Vash.

Desimartini’s review for Shaitaan read, “Shaitaan's one of the main highlights lies in its tone-setting and execution, especially in the first half. The entire sequence of Vanraj terrorizing the family is characterized by thunder and a brutally harsh rainy day. The dialogues and the writing by Ameel Keeyan Khan and Krishnadev Yagnik especially signifying Vanraj's tyranny and the helplessness of the parents are convincing. The movie travels at an efficient pace and does not fall prey to monotony. The interpersonal relationship between the characters especially the 'Shaitaan' and his prey is horrifying and impactful.”
