    Siddhant Chaturvedi who is only three films old in Bollywood has taken another leap in his career with Gehraiyaan. The actor who gets ample room in the Shakun Batra film, also starring Deepika Padukone , Ananya Panday and Dhairya Karwa , to show his full range of acting talent.

    Siddhant plays a grey character [spoilers ahead] who is in love with Deepika Padukone but engaged to Ananya Panday and also tied down by the need to prove himself in the business world. How it messes up his life makes for his story in Gehriayaan.

    Talking about playing a grey character and relating to popular Bollywood stars like Shah Rukh Khan and Amitabh Bahchchan who have played popular anti-heroes before him in films Siddhant called Gehriayaan his ‘ Baazigar ’, the 1993 Shah Rukh Khan film.

    Talking about playing the anti-hero in Gehraiyaan, Siddhant told Times of India, “Initially, when I first heard the script, I came back home and I told my dad, this is my 'Baazigar'. I am a Bollywood fan, I have grown up watching all these films and you can’t take that out of me. I am not apologising for that, but at the same time there’s also a part of me that only concentrates on the craft of filmmaking.”

    The actor further revealed that during shoot after giving his take he’d also imitate Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan to show how they would do his character. Siddhant did admit that he’s conscious that is it hard to outdo these Bollywood stars and thus he approached his role with his own fresh take on it.

    Gehraiyaan released on Amazon Prime Video on 11 February.
