The Greatest of All Time: Vijay-starrer begins post-production work; makers drop new poster

After several months of shooting, Thalapathy Vijay’s upcoming sci-fi action thriller, The Greatest of All Time, has finally wrapped up production and has begun its post-production work. The makers of the film took to their social media handles to share the news and dropped an exciting new poster from the film. “Ena nanba, Ready ahh? (Are you ready, my friend?) #TheGOAT Post-production work started. In cinemas from SEP5th (sic),” the caption read.

The new poster showcases Vijay in dual characters - both are seen in a stylish look and pointing guns. One of the characters is an older man, while Vijay is seen in a much younger makeover for the other character. It was reported that the actor will be portraying dual roles in the film – a father and son. 

Earlier, it was reported that Vijay had jetted off to the US for a shooting schedule and it looks like it has been wrapped up. The movie is slated to have a grand worldwide release on September 5, 2024.

Cameos in Vijay’s The Greatest of All Time

 Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the upcoming film will reportedly have Ayalaan star Sivakarthikeyan in a guest role appearance. He is expected to make an appearance during the climax of the film.  

Venkat Prabhu is also set to bring back late actor-politician Vijayakanth on screen, using AI technology. Reports suggest that the actor’s cameo appearance will be a pivotal role and for which the makers are aiming to use AI to generate the actor’s character. Additionally, Ajmal Ameer, who plays a pivotal role in the film, revealed that a few Chennai Super Kings players will also make cameo appearances alongside Thalapathy Vijay in the film. It is speculated that former captain MS Dhoni and Ruturaj of the Chennai Super Kings will make cameo appearances. However, there has been no official update on all these speculations.

The Greatest of All Time cast

Vijay will be essaying dual roles – a 50-year-old man and a 19-year-old youth in the movie that has been billed as a sci-fi action thriller. The upcoming film is set to have an ensemble star cast featuring, Mohan, Prashanth, Sneha, Laila, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Jayaram, Yogi Babu, VTV Ganesh, Vaibhav, Premgi Amaren, Aravind Akash, and Ajmal Ameer, among others. Yuvan Shankar Raja will be scoring the music for the film while Siddhartha Nuni is the cinematographer.
