The next installment in the Lokesh cinematic universe 'Thalapathy 67' officially starts production

    The next installment in director Lokesh Kanakaraj's cinematic universe Thalapathy 67 has officially started production in Chennai.

    Actor Manobala took to Twitter to announce the news that Vijay had joined the sets of the movie but was quick to delete his tweet and apologized to fans.

    Thankfully fans managed to grab a screenshot of the tweet, since the tweet went viral fans are super hyped about the project.

    In a recent interview with Indiaglitz actor Vishal finally revealed that he will be playing the main antagonist opposite, Vijay.

     In the interview, Vishal talked about his excitement about joining the project as well revealing that he is a huge fan of Vijay, he also talked about how he had to put a few projects on hold because of the shooting schedule for Thalapathy 67

    Meanwhile, it was also announced that Trisha Krishnan has been cast as the female lead in Thalapthy 67 opposite Vijay.

    Thalapathy 67 will see Vijay and Trisha reunite after a gap of 15 years, their last movie together was the 2008 action movie Kuruvi. 

    This movie will also mark their fifth collaboration after Ghilli, Thirupaachi, Aathi, and Kuruvi, three of which have been massive box-office successes.

    Along with Thalapathy 67, Lokesh Kanakaraj has announced three other installments set in his cinematic universe, they are Which are Kaithi 2 starring Karthi, Vikram 2 starring Kamaal Hassan, and finally, a spinoff of Vikram focusing on Rolex played by Suriya, who had a cameo at the end of the movie.

    Meanwhile, Vijay is gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie Varisu which is directed by Vamshi Paidipally and will see the superstar be paired with Rashmika Mandanna for the first time.

    The movie has an estimated budget of 200 crores and will be released in Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. With T-series acquiring the rights to the Hindi Version.

    Varisu will hit theaters worldwide on January 12th, 2023.
