Thor: Love and Thunder star Tessa Thompson backtracks about her role and new powers

Hollywood actress Tessa Thompson had heightened the excitement of MCU fans as she spoke about her role in Thor: Love and Thunder and the strange new powers that her character Valkyrie has in the movie. One such power being the ability to bring people back to life. The Valkyrie were elite guards of Asgard who were nearly wiped out by Hela.

In a recent social media post, the actress was quick to clarify her statement regarding her new powers and redacting her statement about what fans can expect from her character. 

Thor: Love and Thunder which will be the fourth installment in the Thor franchise and currently the movie is in post-production.  

Thompson said in her post "In talking about Valkyrie to W Magazine, I was talking generally about powers that are canon and that I loved in reading the comics and not about Thor: Love and Thunder. I shan't be a home for spoilers,"

She spoke about the deceased Asgaurdians in the afterlife and had told W magazine, "She has weird skills, to be honest. She can sense when someone is close to death, and she takes them into Valhalla, which is essentially the afterlife.”

"She can revive people. But when she revives people, sometimes she ends up in their body. It's a weird thing. It can be quite erotic. And then she has superhuman strength and is essentially God,” she had added.

The movie will see Natalie Portman reprise her role as Jane Foster who inherits the powers of Thor and becomes worthy to use his hammer.

The movie boasts a huge cast including the cast of Guardians of the Galaxy who Thor was last seen traveling on their spaceship with in Avengers Endgame.

Christian Bale will be playing the role of Gorr the God Butcher a powerful being that has a history with Odin and the people of Asgard

Thor: Love and Thunder is set to hit the big screen on July 8, 2022
