Vaani Kapoor to portray pornstar's lookalike in Dinesh Vijan's Sarvagunn Sampann? Here's what we know

After portraying the role of a trans woman in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui , actor Vaani Kapoor is reportedly set to play the popular pornstar’s lookalike in producer Dinesh Vijan ’s upcoming film, Sarvagunn Sampanna. The actress is supposed to solely lead the film, as per reports.

Vaani will be seen in the role of a bold and dignified small-town girl who looks like a popular pornstar. Vijan is prepping up for a progressive film exposing the poor mentality of the Indian patriarchal society in a quirky storyline. The film will be a social comedy that will mark the directorial debut of Shonli Rattan.

"Dinesh Vijan is making a high-concept, progressive film about a small-town girl who looks like a popular porn star. It’s a special project that brings to light a very important message while entertaining the audience with its quirky storyline. Vaani plays a strong, bold, dignified woman fighting for her integrity, exposing the poor mentality of the Indian patriarchal society all along,” a source told Bollywood Hungama .

Earlier, Vaani played the role of a trans woman who undergoes surgery to become a complete woman. The film starred Ayushmann Khurrana as the male lead. After its release, the actress was critically acclaimed for her performance. With the new project in hand, she is all set to defy another social taboo attached to being a pornstar in Indian society.

Talking about debutant director Shonali, she has earlier assisted her husband and filmmaker Kunal Deshmukh in films like Tum Mile, Jannat , Shiddat, and Raja Natwarlal . She also contributed to Goldie Behl ’s ZEE5 series Mithya.

Meanwhile, Vaani will next be seen alongside Ranbir Kapoor in the upcoming film, Shamshera. She plays the role of a performer who dances her way into the hearts of people. Directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films . Besides Vaani and Ranbir, the film also has Sanjay Dutt . It is slated to release in in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu on July 22, 2022.
