Aamir to play a father to Taapsee and Akshara Haasan?

As the casting process gears up to gather some pace, the makers of Aamir Khan’s Dangal are putting weight up on the pedal to finalise Aamir’s onscreen daughters. As the actor preps to play wrestler ‘Mahavir Phogat’ on screen fathering three daughters, the crucial prospect for the makers is to zero in on the female faces.

While Taapsee Pannu was already being considered for the role, we hear that Akshara Haasan and Deeksha Seth are also the shortlisted names. According to a report in a leading daily, a source had revealed that Taapsee is pretty much on board as she brings in the much required physical labour to the table. "Taapsee Pannu, Deeksha Seth and Akshara Hassan are the ones Nitesh (Tiwari, the director of Dangal) has talked to and he feels they are perfect for the roles. Taapsee has shown great promise, and Nitesh was bowled over by her performance in Baby. Her character needs to be agile and athletic. The number of stunts she pulled off in Baby is commendable,” the source said.

All three girls are required to be athletically active as the film demands to be a heavy one on that. While Tapsee seems confirmed, director Nitesh Tiwari is currently analysing Akshara and Deeksha’s auditions. After having worked with Big B in Shamitabh, sharing screen with Aamir could be a major boost for the Haasan daughter.
