Pritam Goes On A 'Year Long Break'

Jab Harry Met Sejal, Tubelight, Jagga Jasoos and Behen Hogi Teri… Pritam has had a busy four months and it has been so gruelling that the musician has announced a break of “year or year and a half”. Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal released to critical reviews on Friday but its music is being appreciated.

The film has some hummable numbers and the music launch of each song were turned into events. Pritam took to social media to announce his break.

Here is what Pritam wrote about his break…

With the release of Jab Harry Met Sejal, the 3 most grueling months of my life come to an end. It’s been exhausting and challenging with 4 films, over 25 songs, over 20 musicals and background music of Jagga Jasoos all happening back to back. How I wish that the releases were spaced out but nonetheless it’s been a personally inspiring ride. Also learned a lot of new lessons in this journey.

Thank you all for your constant love and support. I had decided last year not to sign on any new projects till the completion of JHMS and with its release, I can take a small break and will come back to take on new projects, as no matter how hard, challenging and sleep depriving the process is, this is what I love. Thank you guys again, will see you in a year or year and a half with some new films.

Before this, Pritam was in news when Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor’s father, slammed the composer for delivering music of the film late. He also attacked Anurag Basu for delaying the film. Rishi said Pritam delivered the music of Jagga Jasoos just a week before the film’s release. Reacting to the allegations, Pritam had told PTI, “I have spent enough time in the industry to not believe any interview verbatim. Unless I get a personal message, I don’t believe in anything. Rishi ji is somebody I respect a lot, he is a senior, I’ve grown up watching his films. On top of it, he is Ranbir’s dad. I am in love with Ranbir for his talent and the person he is.”
