Ajay Devgn, Anupam Kher Honoured With Padma Awards

Rashtrapati Bhavan played host to the Civil Investiture Ceremony where Padma awards were given out to several celebrities on March 28. President Pranab Mukherjee honoured 56 personalities with the awards. Among the recipients were actors Anupam Kher and Ajay Devgn.

Five personalities were given Padma Vibhushan awards, eight were given the Padma Bhushan and 43 were honoured with Padma Shri awards at the ceremony. Anupam Kher and Saina Nehwal received the Padma Bhushan while Ajay Devgn and Madhur Bhandarkar were given Padma Shri honours. Renowned dancer Yamini Krishnamurty and founder of Reliance Industries late Dhirubhai Hirachand Ambani were also honoured with Padma Vibhushan awards.

It was a special moment for all the prominent personalities who were commemorated. Next month, another function will honour superstar Rajinikanth, tennis star Sania Mirza and actor Priyanka Chopra as well. The announcement for the recipients of these Padma awards was made ahead of Republic Day.
