Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam delays release of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation

Ajay Devgn’s Drishyam delays release of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation

Sad news for MI fans, the release of Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation, has been postponed by a week. The decision was taken so as to give a clear window to another big-budget flick, Ajay Devgn starrer, Drishyam, releasing on the same date. Both were previously set to hit the theatres on July 31.

Indian audience will now have to wait till August 7 to watch Tom Cruise, who reprises his role of IMF Agent Ethan Hunt in the flick. A source close to the development of the project confirmed, “Since both the films are being distributed by the same production house, it was decided that MI 5 would release here a week after its global release”.

According to another source, “Since, two big-budget action films releasing on the same day is not a good idea, it is a win-win situation when the parent company readily agrees to the shift in dates”. The decision has come at a time when other big Hollywood projects like Avengers: Age of Ultron are hitting Indian theatres a week before they hit in U.S. theatres.
