Akshay Kumar’s Padman Is Not For Earning Money But For This reason

After his stint in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, Akshay Kumar seems to have taken up the project of making people aware of their society and health.  The actor is all set to be seen in the upcoming film Padman . In the film, women’s menstrual cycle and everything related to will be described making them aware of this sensitive issue.|

The film was launched yesterday and at the event and talking about the lack of awareness of women and not using sanitary napkins during menstruation, Akshay said, “With this subject (menstrual hygiene) we got to know that 82 percent women don't use sanitary pads and with the help of everyone including the government, we hope the numbers come down”.

The film also stars Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in the lead roles. It is being produced under the banner of Twinkle Khanna 's Mrs. Funnybones Productions.The film has been directed by R. Balki and is slated to release on January 26, 2018.
