Akshay Kumar’s Rustom Goes On Floors

While the Khans have booked all the major festivals such as Diwali, Eid and Christmas, Akshay Kumar on the other side is concentrating on patriotic films which he releases on Republic and Independence Day. After basking in the success of republic day release Airlift, the Khiladi star has kick-started the shoot for his next titled ‘Rustom’. To be directed by Neeraj Pandey, the film is slated to release around Independence Day.

Rustom is a romantic thriller film which will star Ileana D'Cruz and Esha Gupta alongside Akshay. Written by Pandey and Vipul Rawal, the film will be set in 50’s and will be helmed by Tinu DesaiI. The shooting of the film has commenced on February 8 reportedly. “Akshay and Ileana kicked off the schedule at a suburban studio, Esha will join them shortly. It will also be shot in the UK and parts of Europe”, a source to Mumbai Mirror has revealed.

About Akshay Kumar’s look in the film, the source said, “It reflects the flared pants, charcoal ties and cardigans of the era. He will also use prosthetics for his role”, and added, “The film will feature a supporting cast of actors from London, inspired by characters from history”.
