OMG! Alia Bhatt’s Extortionist Has Been Released On Bail.

A couple of weeks back Mahesh Bhatt received a call from a man, who threatened to kill his wife Soni Razdan, and daughter Alia Bhatt, demanding a certain amount of sum. The man was arrested from Lucknow a few days after Mahesh lodged a complaint. The latest update is that accused, named Sandeep Sahu, is out on a bail.

Speaking to a leading daily, Sandeep’s lawyer Sudha Dwivedi said that he could only be booked for ‘criminal intimidation’ (section 506 of the IPC) and not ‘extortion’ (section 387 of the IPC).  “For this section of extortion to be applicable, there should be some transfer of valuable security or money, grievous hurt or injury. However, there is no such thing in the present case. The police in their overzealousness has booked him for a graver offense,” she said.  

Reports have it that Sandeep has been released on the bail of Rs 20,000 and has been asked to visit the police station every Sunday between 2-4 pm. We hear that Sandeep threatened the family because he needed money, as he had to repay a loan of Rs 6 lakhs that he had borrowed from his relatives. Meanwhile, Alia seemed to be unaffected by this. She was pretty much calm as she knew her father and the police were taking care of the whole scenario.
