Anurag Basu To Move Ahead With Kishore Kumar Biopic Without Ranbir Kapoor

After Barfi, filmmaker Anurag Basu expressed his desire of making a biopic on legendary singer Kishore Kumar. It was also speculated that he will rope in Ranbir Kapoor for the film. However, instead of the biopic, he started working on Jagga Jasoos.

Now the director is back with the project. And if you are thinking that he will cast Ranbir, then you are wrong. The director was earlier planning to make three films in a row with the Rajneeti actor, but since Ranbir is busy with other projects, therefore he is planning to rope in other actor for the film.

When asked him about the film, Anurag said, “I don’t know with whom I will make the film and when exactly. After Sanjay Dutt biopic, Ranbir will be busy with another film, [Ayan Mukerji’s] ‘Dragon’. I don’t want to wait for too long for my [much-delayed] film, so if Ranbir can’t give dates this year, I will go with someone else.”

When asked him about his plans of releasing Jagga Jasoos, Anurag said that he is planning to release the movie sometimes in mid-July.
