Anushka Sharma Accused Of Illegal Construction

According to recent reports, Anushka Sharma’s neighbour has accused the actress of illegally installing an electric junction box on her floor. The PK actress owns the entire 20th floor of the posh Badrinath Towers in Mumbai's Versova area. The plaintiff, Sunil Batra, has reportedly filed a complaint at the Brihanmumbai Mahanagar Corporation (BMC) for the illegal construction.

Mumbai Mirror quoted Batra as saying, “The civic officials inspected the premises and found the electric junction box highly objectionable. They have asked the Sharmas to remove it”. In his complaint, Batra also mentioned that the actress and her family members had disdained several other laws in the society. Bringing forth a copy of a letter written by the K Ward assistant engineer, Batra revealed that the actress has been asked to remove the box. The letter read, “To the owners/occupiers of flat Nos 2001 and 2002, the installation of electric junction box in the common passage area of society is highly objectionable. You are directed to remove the box otherwise necessary action will be initiated as per the MMC Act”.

However, Anushka’s spokesperson quashed the allegations stating, “The actress owns three flats on the 20th floor and all permissions since 2013 are in place. Anushka and her family are law-abiding and responsible citizens and wouldn’t do anything to inconvenience or harm anyone”. An anonymous resident came out in Anushka’s support, revealing, “This particular individual claiming that the construction is illegal, himself has multiple illegal parking spaces, apart from other illegal constructions in and around his house. He wants to take his personal vendetta into public domain by throwing around a celebrity’s name, such as Anushka’s, as she is a public figure”.

Well, let’s wait to see where this controversy ends.
