Award time for veteran Bollywood personalities

It is being reported that legendary film actor late Rajesh Khanna,Sholayfame Ramesh Sippy and singer Kailash Kher are being considered for next year's ‘Padma awards’. Meanwhile, industrialist-politician T S Reddy has announced an award in veteran late filmmaker Yash Chopra's memory and senior actor Anupam Kher is to be conferred with 'Kalidas Samman'. According to sources, Khanna has been recommended for ‘Padma Vibhushan’, the highest category among the ‘Padma awards’, and Sippy and Kher have been recommended for ‘Padma Shri’.

Reddy, who had produced Hindi films likeVijay,ChandniandLamhehas announced a national award in memory of Chopra which will be given to an outstanding film personality each year. "In my friend's memory, I want to constitute Yash Chopra National Memorial Award. It consists of Rs 10 lakh and a citation. The award will be given to an outstanding film personality every year by TSR foundation," the Congress leader said. Kher will be conferred with 'Kalidas Samman' during this year’s All-India Kalidas Samaroh in Ujjain on November 24. The decision was announced by the Madhya Pradesh culture minister Laxmikant Sharma after a meeting of All-India Kalidas Samaroh advisory committee in Bhopal on Saturday.
