‘Awards Don't Matter To Me’: Nawazuddin Siddiqui

Popular for playing unconventional roles on big screen, Nawazuddin Siddiqui is currently riding high on success in the industry. Just like many other actors, Nawaz also doesn’t care about winning awards. He feels that it is an actor’s performance that is remembered for several years rather than the number of awards he has won.

Nawaz told IANS, “Awards don't matter to me. I don't care about awards. After an award function, everybody forgets who got an award but it's your performance that people will remember forever. Award is just an episode where everyone meets each other, wears good clothes and that's it”.

The 42-year-old star further said that he wants to portray different roles on-screen. “I feel fortunate that I am being offered all kinds of films. In a new film, I am also doing a romantic role. As an actor, I am experimenting with all kinds of genres. It's a great time for an actor, so one can experiment and one should take advantage of this phase”, he said. Meanwhile, Nawazuddin’s latest release ‘Raman Raghav 2.0’ is being applauded not only by the audiences but also by the critics.
