Baahubali 2: The Conclusion storm hit Indian theatres last Friday, and the SS Rajamouli magnum opus has been breaking box office records from the word go. The opening weekend collection of the Hindi version of the film is staggering: The film raked in Rs 128 crore in first three days of its release. Film critic Taran Adarsh tweeted the day-wise break-up of the money the film made -- Friday (Rs 41 cr), Sat (Rs 40.50 cr) and Sunday (Rs 46.50 cr).

The Hindi version of the film demolished a couple of other collection records -- both for the opening day (beating Salman Khan’s PRDP), and first weekend (held previously by Dangal and Sultan).

The Baahubali mania has hit overseas markets as well. Taran tweeted data from US, Australia, New Zealand and UK for the opening weekend, all of which has contributed to its phenomenal success.

SS Rajamouli’s film is on a record-breaking spree. It first created history by becoming the biggest opener in Indian film. Baahubali 2 earned more than Rs 121 crore on its opening day from Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi versions.

Despite being released on a non-holiday, Baahubali 2 broke the record of Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo which garnered Rs 40.35 cr on its first Friday.

The Telugu version of the film netted a whopping Rs 53 crore, according to trade analyst Trinath. “The film has taken a phenomenal opening. In Andhra and Telangana, the film in Telugu minted Rs 53 crore, making it the biggest opening ever for any film across language in the two states. The film is expected to collect over Rs 100 crore from the two states over the weekend,” he said.

In Tamil Nadu, the film collected around Rs 12 crore on the first day. “If the early morning shows were not cancelled across Tamil Nadu on Friday, the film could have collected even more. According to early estimates, it has minted around Rs. 12 crore. It’s going pick up over the weekend...,” Trinath added.

In Kerala, the film is believed to have collected around Rs 7 crore on Friday.

In the US, from Thursday premieres alone, the film raked in $2.5 million.

The film stars Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannaah Bhatia, Sathyaraj and Ramya Krishnan.
