Begum Jaan: Asha Bhosle returns with soulful track in Vidya Balan's film

One of the legendary voices of the Indian music, Asha Bhosle is again ready to enthrall her fans with a soulful track in Vidya Balan’s upcoming film Begum Jaan.

Composed by Anu Malik, the song is titled Prem Me Tohre and has a minimalist approach. While mostly heavy strings are used in the background, Asha’s voice has been given enough prominence. It’s not exactly a ‘ghazal’, but has elements of it.

Malik has intelligently used his sources to give the song a modern outlook despite keeping the old-world charm.

Kausar Munir has penned the song for the film, which is directed by Srijit Mukherji, and is a remake of Bengali film Rajkahini.

Begum Jaan is scheduled to hit the screens on April 14, 2017.
