Body Shaming Is Silly, Stupid: Arjun Kapoor

Six-pack abs and a size zero figure have long been in trend, probably since Shah Rukh Khan flaunted his sexy abdominal muscles in the song Dard-e-Disco or Kareena Kapoor attained a bikini fit body for Tashan. No doubt, Bollywood celebrities are great role models. However, the inclination toward being healthy has taken a turn toward only looking fit on screen.

Well, Arjun Kapoor seems to agree with changing trend. Recently, the 30-year-old actor was asked about the issue of body shaming. Expressing his views, the Gunday actor stated "It's silly and stupid. Sometimes you push yourself so much to look good that you become unhealthy. The time has now gone of just being good-looking”.

“I am a prime example. I am not saying I am not good-looking. For some people I may be appealing and that's amazing because I am not a conventional Hindi film hero material from any angle. Not everybody is going to look the same”, added Arjun.

The Ishaqzaade star further stated, “Of course, it's good to be fit and healthy but the choice is yours as to how thin you want to look. It also depends on the role. When I was doing '2 States', I became thin to look convincing for that part. It's not easy for a guy who is broad like me to look thin. For that I had to stop eating literally. The audience's mindset has changed but there will always be haters”.
