Box Office Report: 1920 London Beats Other Bollywood Releases This Weekend

The Sharman Joshi-starrer 1920 London has come out on top after it went head-to-head with One Night Stand and Traffic this Friday. The third installment of Vikram Bhatt’s 1920 horror series collected ₹ 2.50 crore on Friday. Given that the film’s release was delayed for two years, it can be considered a decent opening.

On Saturday, the film added another ₹2.25 crore to its collection. The numbers rose on Sunday as it minted ₹2.30 crore, bringing its weekend total to ₹7.05 crore.

One night stand which featured Sunny Leone had a disappointing opening as it scored only ₹ 0.60 crore on Friday. Expectations were higher from the film, given its star and the provocative topic it dealt with. But the trend continued as it only collected ₹ 0.55 and 0.65 crore on the remaining two days. This brought its weekend collection to a mere ₹ 1.80 crore.

But the biggest disappointment was Manoj Bajpayee’s Traffic. The movie, which also starred Jimmy Shergill, only brought in ₹ 0.40 crore on Friday.  Largely because of a good word-of-mouth, its numbers improved slightly, collecting ₹0.50 crore and ₹0.70 crore on Saturday and Sunday respectively.
