Complaint against Arjun Rampal For Allegedly Assaulting A Man In Delhi

A man from Delhi’s Shalimar Bagh on early Sunday morning filed a police complaint against Bollywood actor Arjun Rampal and accused him of allegedly hitting and injuring him with a camera’s flash at a five star hotel in central Delhi, police said. No FIR was registered till the filing of this report as the complainant’s medical examination reports were awaited.

In his complaint filed at the Connaught Place police station, the man Shobhit, alleged that he suffered head injury when Rampal, while playing DJ and dancing with guests, snatched a photographer’s camera and threw it towards the dance floor. Shobhit was dancing on the dance floor with his friend when the camera hit him in his head.

“Shobhit suffered injury in his head and started bleeding. He then called the police control room (PCR) around 4 am and informed us about the incident,” said a police officer. A police team reached and took Shobhit to a nearby government hospital for medical examination. He was discharged after preliminary medical attention.

According to the complaint, the officer said, Rampal was playing DJ when a photographer after spotting him began taking his photographs. As the camera’s flash was constantly flashing at him, Rampal allegedly got enraged. He allegedly snatched the camera and as he hurled it towards the dance floor, it hit Shobhit, said the officer. Rampal left the place after the incident.

Mukesh Kumar Meena, special commissioner of police (New Delhi range), confirmed that they have received a complaint against the Bollywood actor.

According to the officer, they were waiting for Shobhit’s medical reports to ascertain the nature of injuries. “We will examine the medical reports and further action will be taken accordingly. We are also taking legal opinion from experts,” added the officer.

During the entire ordeal, the camera hit a youth, named Shobhit, on the dance floor, who got badly injured.

Following which, the injured youth filed a complaint against the Rock On!! star and got his medical examination done.

The Delhi Police has started investigation in the case.
