Deepika Padukone says that children need to be friendly with their parents but at the same time respect them as well. When asked about the actress’ expectations from her kids, "I hope I will be able to be like friends with my kids and they don't hide anything from me. At the same time, they should have respect for me and give me love too”, she shared with Filmibeat.

Deepika’s upcoming film ‘Piku’ is based on a relationship of a father and a daughter. Talking about her relationship with her parents, she said, “I share a great equation with my parents”. The Lovely girl also opined, "I feel one has to have a strong connection with parents but at the same time, there should be a sense of fear too among the kids. Children and parents should maintain a friendly relationship and the kids should not hide anything from them. They should be allowed and free to discuss about everything with their parents".

The 29-year-old later shared her childhood memories, "My fondest moment of me with my dad, every time I think of my dad, I think of him in a lungi. When I used to misbehave and my mother used to shout at me, then he was forced to punish me". The Shoojit Sircar directorial also features Amitabh Bachchan, Irrfan Khan, Jeeshu Sengupta and Moushumi Chatterjee. The flick is expected to release on May 8 this year.
