Dilip Kumar To Be Honoured With Padma Vibhushan At Home

Legendry actor Dilip Kumar will be honoured with country's second-highest civilian award Padma Vibhushan at his home itself on December 13. The iconic actor has turned 93 today. The award was supposed to be conferred in April but due to ill-health, Dilip Kumar had missed the event then. Now, he will be honoured at his place in a few days.  

“Dilip Kumar will be honoured with Padma Vibhushan on December 13 at his residence here. Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be coming from Delhi to present the award to him”, close friend Udaya Tara Nayar said. Nayar had also complied his autobiography titled ‘The Substance and the Shadow’.

The veteran actor has cancelled his birthday celebrations in wake of Chennai rains victims. His wife Saira Banu informed IANS, “This time, it’s just going to be a small dinner with our close family members and three friends. So, it’s just going to be six to seven people together for his birthday. We are very affected by the Chennai incident and have decided to keep it quiet. After what happened in Chennai, it wouldn’t have been right to have a huge celebration”.
