    The Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol starrer Dilwale crossed the Rs. 100 crore mark on its opening weekend worldwide. The movie pooled in Rs. 121 crore out of which Rs. 65 crore came from the Indian market. The Rohit Shetty directorial seems to have acquired a comfortable lead ahead of Bajirao Mastani.

    Released on the same date, Bajirao Mastani stars Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh. The movie has grossed Rs. 91 crore in three days worldwide. According to Eros International, Rs. 60 crore was earned from Indian cinemas. The movie is directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Both films have been made on a budget of over Rs. 100 crore.

    Both movies have their unique selling proposition. Dilwale brings back the chemistry between one of Bollywood’s most appreciated on screen couple Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. On the other hand, Bajirao Mastani takes the rumoured couple Deepika and Ranveer back to the Maratha times after their film Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela.
