    FIR filed against Sanjay Dutts film producers for cheque fraud

    The producers of Sanjay Dutt’s upcoming filmSher, Dhillan Mehta and Hiren Gandhi, have been accused of defrauding a man of Rs.1.58 crore. Surendra Kalra, who provided logistics support to the producers during the shooting of the movie, has lodged an FIR against them alleging that cheques given to him by the film makers have bounced. The FIR said Dhillan and Hiren have allegedly defrauded Kalra of Rs. 1.58 crore while shooting in Jaipur in July.

    Sub inspector Dataram, who is in-charge of the case, said, "The movie shoot had taken place in Jaipur in May and July. Through various firms, Kalra claims that he provided all the logistic support during the shoot." He added that both the producers who signed the cheques have been booked under sections of the 420(fraud) and 406 (criminal breach of trust) of the Indian Penal Code.
