Have Not Filed For Divorce, I Still Love Him: Mandana Karimi

Ex Bigg Boss contestant, Mandana Karimi was reported on Tuesday to have filed for divorce from her husband of five months, Gaurav Gupta, on grounds of domestic abuse.

However, Mandana told Mumbai Mirror on Wednesday that she has only filed a case of domestic abuse against her in-laws who threw her out of her marital home and wouldn’t let her come back. She says that she still loves Gaurav and doesn’t want to divorce him.

Mandana says that she had an argument with Gaurav, after which, she went to her friend’s place to calm herself down. “When I returned, they wouldn’t let me enter and have stopped communicating with me,” she said. She says it’s been seven weeks and she has still not been let in.

“I’ve been staying with friends or in a hotel, it’s been really tough. Where will I get the money to survive?,” she said. Mandana’s family lives in Iran and are unable to visit her in Mumbai.

“Some of my friends have come down but my family is not here and I don’t have a place to stay. I am not in touch with anyone from Bigg Boss so I don’t think any of them are aware of my plight,” she said.

Even though his family hasn’t allowed her back in, Mandana says she still loves Gaurav. “I didn’t leave my house, I love it. I haven’t been allowed to enter the house or even my husband’s office but that doesn’t mean I should get divorced. I am still his wife, I love Gaurav. I haven’t filed for divorce, I have only filed a domestic violence case,” she said.

Mandana made headlines during the ninth season of hit reality TV show Bigg Boss. She was also the lead actor in adult comedy, Kyaa Kool Hain Hum 3. “But I stopped working after marriage at my husband’s behest. Gaurav wouldn’t agree to me acting in films or doing television so I stopped working completely after Bigg Boss and chose to work on my marriage and relationship. It wasn’t the smartest option,” she said.
