Is a movie on Great Expectations Abhishek Kapoor’s next?

Filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor, who has recently tasted success withKai Po Che!, has planned his next flick to be adapted from Charles Dickens’ classicGreat Expectations. His cousin Ekta Kapoor will reportedly produce the film.

A source stated on Kapoor’s plans, "It was a big challenge to come on a common ground for Gattu and Ekta. They had prolonged discussions before she was convinced that he could pull it off." The novel, which has always been a favourite among worldwide filmmakers, depicts the journey of Pip, an orphan. Apart from David Lean's successful adaptation, Mike Newell's 2012 film based on the novel also nourished a positive response from its audience.
