Jacqueline Fernandez Talks About Judging Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9

The long anticipated season 9 of the popular dance-based reality show, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, aired on Colors on July 30 with larger than ever performances including that of Jacqueline Fernandez’s fiery grooves on a mash up of her hit numbers. The show marks the actress’ debut as a judge on small screen. Recently, the Sri Lankan beauty shared about working in television, stating that the medium reaches to more number of people than films.

"Everyone may not go and buy a ticket to watch a movie but everyone has a television at home”, Jacqueline told IANS in a telephonic interview from Mumbai, adding, “It definitely has a huge reach and a huge connect with the audience”. The Roy actress was asked if she believes TV is a stronger medium than films. To this, the impeccable lady replied, "People do love, admire and emulate film stars as well. The reach is undoubtedly very large. I don't know if I would want to compare it to the cinema”.

The 30-year-old actress also talked about the show, saying that judging the contestants is a huge responsibility. “It is a huge responsibility because these contestants are celebrities...and have a huge fan following. They are really very talented so for me it's kind of like 'How do I judge them?', 'How do I judge people with so much talent?' and at the same time 'How can I help them to fulfill their dreams?’”, Jacqueline added.

Sharing her experience as a judge, the Housefull 3 actress said, “It's (judging and mentoring) very tricky and a very daunting task, but it's also an exciting experience”.

Jacqueline is accompanied by renowned director Karan Johar and choreographer Ganesh Hegde on the judge panel. On a related note, her recently released Dishoom is garnering quite favourable feedback from the movie buffs as well as critics.
