John Abraham sprains his back while shooting for Welcome Back

Bollywood heartthrob John Abraham has hurt his back while driving in a desert in Dubai for Anees Bazmee's Welcome Back. The actor, who was supposed to shoot a car chase sequence, applied brake to his SUV so hard that his back bore the brunt of an intense jerk spraining it. Soon, the thrilling adventure of driving in a desert turned to a ‘painful’ experience for Abraham.

The Dostana actor required immediate medical care and had to go through a couple of physiotherapy sessions combined with pain killers. A source close to the unit says, "In one of the sequences for the climax, which was a car chase, John was required to dodge cars coming towards him from all directions. But due to a miscalculation, he applied the brakes suddenly, which resulted in a back sprain."

"A doctor was immediately rushed to the spot as John’s pain was getting unbearable. He couldn’t even sit," reveals the source, adding, "After some rest, a couple of physiotherapy sessions, and a few painkillers, John was back to complete the rest of the shoot. However, the doctor has advised him to take care of his back, and not pick up any heavy objects for a couple of weeks."

Producer Firoz A. Nadiadwala confirmed the news, saying, "John faced back trouble while driving the SUV on the bumpy sand dunes."
