I'm Blessed To Have Got Everything I Have In My Career So Far: Kailash Kher

One of the most popular and versatile singers in India — Kailash Kher feels blessed to have come this far in a short stretch of time. The singer, who turned 44 earlier this month, feels grateful to have amassed a huge fan following, in a career spanning 12 years.

“If you told me 12 years ago that I would do more than 1000 concerts, sing more than 1000 songs, in India and abroad, I would have laughed and said it’s not possible. But my career has been like this, and I feel whatever I have achieved is unique. You won’t find someone who has done so much, in this small time frame,” says the singer, known for numbers such as Teri Diwani (2006), Allah Ke Bande (2006) and Bam Lahiri (2011).

Not just this, Kher was also awarded the prestigious Padma Shri, earlier this year— another feather in his cap. “It’s not easy to get such a big award. Our country is full of learned people and to get such an award is a matter of great respect. I have lived my life through a lot of hardships, surprises and miracles. I consider this award a part of those miracles,” he says.

The singer shares that his packed concerts in the US have earned him honoury citizenship from seven states as they love to see him perform there. “To have achieved all this in a short span... I never thought that something like this could happen to me in my wildest dreams,” Kher adds.
