The Legendary Dilip Kumar Honoured With Padma Vibhushan

Vetran actor, Dilip Kumar has been honoured with Padma Vibhushan on Decembr 13, 2015. Two days after his 93^rd birthday, the legend was honoured with the award by Home Minister Rajnath Singh and the CM of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis at his residence in Mumbai. The award was presented to the legend in the presence of his wife, Saira Banu and Maharashtra governor C Vidyasagar Rao.

The tragedy king of Bollywood was presented the awards for his contribution to the Hindi cinema for a span of 6 decades.

The first Devdas was presented a medal, certificate and shawl by the minister. Though the award was announced on January 25^th, 2015, the actor couldn’t attend the special function. Other awardees that included Amitabh Bachchan were honoured by the president Pranab Mukherjee in April at Rashtrapati Bhavan.

The Government of India has also honoured him with the Padma Bhushan award in 1991 and the Dadasaheb Phalke in 1994.
