Manjhi Trailer Hits Whooping 2 Million Views

Viacom18 Motion Pictures released a trailer for the forthcoming film 'Manjhi – The Mountain Man' on July 13. Since then it has reached 2.9 million views. The movie is based on a true story about a man named Dashrath Manjhi, who dug a path through the Gehlour hill using just a hammer and a chisel, reducing a 55 km distance to 15 km. He dug for 22 years starting in 1960.

The trailer shows young Manjhi (played by Nawazuddin Siddiqui) meeting and falling in love with his wife to be (Radhika Apte). After an accident, his wife died due to lack of medicine. The nearest town with a doctor was at a distance of 70 km around the hill. He then decided to carve a path through the hill to provide a shorter route for the villagers.

Directed by Ketan Mehta, Manjhi will be released on August 21, 2015. It is produced by Maya Movies Pvt. Ltd. & NFDC. Pankaj Tripathi, Gaurav Dwivedi, Ashraful Haq, Jagat Rawat and Varadraj Swami are also present in the movie.
