Manoj Bajpai and Rajkummar Rao starrer ‘Aligarh’, which is creating lots of hype and buzz for its homosexual subject, will be screened at the Jawaharlal Nehru University, the hub of recent controversies in the country. The Hansal Mehta directorial will be screened on March 4. The movie is based on the real life of AMU professor Shrinivas Ramchandra Siras who was sacked from his job after being caught in a homosexual encounter with a rickshaw-puller.

Hansal Mehta, who recently called the namesake city “homophobic” for unlawfully banning the film, has confirmed the news. He told DNA, “It's going to be screened at the JNU as part of the Human Rights Festival. I am happy to see the film reach the places that matter”.

Further, Mehta said that he is happy with the response that his film has received so far. “The film has reached to the correct kind of audience. It has received tremendous support from the media. I can't recall any film which has been so lovingly reviewed. I am inviting all the critics who looked at my film the way it was meant to be seen. And I am inviting all those colleagues who believed in the film”, he said.
