Nana Patekar Returns to Direction

Nana Patekar, who will next feature in Anees Bazmee's comedy film Welcome Back, has revealed that he is making a comeback as a director. Nana debuted in direction with the film Prahaar: The Final Attack (1991), which co-starred Madhuri Dixit. Not revealing much, the Ghulam-E-Musthafa actor said that film will be a biopic.

The Ab Tak Chhappan actor told PTI, “I am directing a film which is a biopic. I can't talk about it. There is a girl (in the film) and she is the main character. I would go to hunt for locations soon.. I would be going to Kathmandu”. There were rumours that Nana will direct the third sequel to Ab Tak Chappan. When he was asked about the same, he said, “If I get to direct, it will be my story and if I get to do everything then I'll direct.. Else there is lot of interference. I want to do it on my own”.

Nana also revealed that he is starting a production company. The Welcome star said, “There are certain kind of films you want to do. I am coming up with my production house. My son will be producing the films. We would be making serious kind of films”. He added, “I would not be part of every film that he (his son) would produce. You cast as per your requirement whether it does well or not, is not my concern”.
