Opening Weekend Collection: Fitoor Flops, Sanam Re Mints Rs. 17.05 crore

Pulkit Samrat and Yami Gautam starrer Sanam Re which was racing ahead of Katrina Kaif and Aditya Roy Kapoor starrer Fitoor is still ruling at the box office. Divya Khosla Kumar’s directorial has minted Rs. 17.05 crore in three days while Abhishek Kapoor-helmed film has minted Rs. 14.11 crore. It seems that the film’s popular music and young cast has appealed the audiences.

Sanam Re, which also starred Urvashi Rautela collected Rs. 5.04 crore on Friday, Rs. 5.56 crore on Saturday and Rs. 6.45 crore on Sunday. On the other side, Fitoor minted Rs. 3.61 crore on Friday, Rs. 4.54 crore on Saturday and Rs. 5.96 crore on Sunday. Both the films have received mixed reviews from the critics.

Winning the battle of romantic dramas, Sanam Re has further benefited from Valentine’s weekend. Since Sanam Re was made on a small budget, it is said that the film will make good profit after selling satellite rights. Sanam Re is expected to fizzle out at the box office next weekend as Sonam Kapoor starrer Neerja is hitting the theatres on February 19.
