There is a strong denial from filmmaker Prakash Jha’s end whenever a comparison is being raised between his upcoming film Satyagraha and Anna Hazare's movement against corruption. In Satyagraha Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of a social activist, Ajay Devgan portrays a wannabe politician, Kareena Kapoor is a journalist and Manoj Bajpai is again a politician.

Jha issued a statement saying, "Anna Hazare's movement mobilised common people. In my film, the movement and its logic is completely different. I'm not trying to be judgemental about Anna Hazare's movement and I don't want anyone to be judgmental about my film.” He added, "Any suspicion linking with Hazare's movement is uncalled for. But there is nothing I can do about that.” Satyagraha, a political thriller also starring Arjun Rampal and Amrita Rao, is scheduled to release on August 30.
