Priyanka in, Kareena out from Bhansalis next film Ram Leela

After much publicity around Kareena Kapoor bagging Sanjay Leela Bhansalis next ambitious project Ram Leela, the recent buzz is that the Bollywood diva has been dropped from the big budget film due to her impending marriage. However, the hot actress has denied such reports saying she has herself quitted the film because of dates and money problems. According to reports, now Priyanka Chopra will play the role of the leading lady in the film opposite Ranveer Singh. A close source to Bhansali said, We arent aware of the exact reasons why, but Priyanka has been roped in by Mr Bhansali. Although no one is ready to divulge details yet, Priyanka was confirmed for the role a couple of days back. Whatever the case, Priyanka has been chosen because Bhansali wanted a completely fresh pairing. Priyanka is also excited because its one of Bhansalis most prestigious projects. Its an author-backed role, the source added. Reacting angrily to the news, Kareena said that she has not been replaced by the filmmaker but she herself left the film. The actress said, "I walked out a week ago. I had allotted 100 days for the shooting in August as per contract but Mr Bhansali wanted more days to shoot. My managers Reshma Shetty and Zahid Khan thought about it and decided it wasn't possible as I have signed three new big films for next year. The shooting for one of them begins in October immediately after the release of Heroine. I've also given 32 days of promotional time for Heroine as it's a very special film for me. That wouldn't have been possible if I had given those dates to Ram Leela," she added. Kareena said that its totally false that she has opted out of the film due to her October 16 marriage. "I am extremely ambitious and very career-oriented and my personal life has never come in the way of my career. My not doing this film has nothing to do with my wedding. Everyone knows Saif and me have been together in a relationship for the last five years and such stories about me being replaced because I am getting married are floated by PR machineries on an overdrive! So people, just back off and let me focus on my work!"
