Sushant Singh Rajput, who has made his presence felt in Bollywood with movies like Byomkesh Bakshi and MS Dhoni, on Thursday condemned online trolling, adding that “one is screwed for both having an opinion and also for not having one!”

Sushant, who was in Jalandhar with co-star Kriti Sanon to promote their upcoming movie Raabta, said most online trolls are paid.

“Soon, a time will come when intelligent people will not even get affected by trolls,” he said.

“There are ten trending topics every hour of every day on social media. This gives with a platform to say anything about anybody and then tag somebody — eventually you will be heard,” the Kai Po Che actor said.

“Getting famous today is easy: If you can come up with any obnoxious or stupid thing, you get talked about. You can even become the president of a country!” he said.

Kriti, too, agreed with Sushant’s statement saying that trolls put you down.

“People are very impatient today. You say anything and it is immediately taken out of context. People get offended for no reason,” she said.

‘Would love to do a Punjabi movie’

The Heropanti actress expressed her love for Punjab, Punjabi films and the songs, saying that she would love to do a Punjabi movie as it will make her “fully Punjabi”.

“I am a Punjabi but cannot converse in the language. So, I will happily do a Punjabi film to become a true-blue Punjabi,” she said.

“I call myself a fake Punjabi as I don’t know the language but I love it when my parents converse in Punjabi. I love the language,” she added. A song of the movie has been shot in Amritsar.

    ‘Raabta was hard hard work’

Talking about the upcoming movie, both the actors said they had to work really hard for the movie. Sushant took training for around three weeks in Bangkok and learned sword fighting.

Sushant said that although he doesn’t believe in the concept of reincarnation — the core concept of the movie — he found the script very strong. “The concept of reincarnation will appear real to everyone when they watch the movie,” the Shuddh Desi Romance actor said.
