Ramesh Sippy heads to Supreme Court, seeks stay on Sholay's 3D version’s release
Director-producer Ramesh Sippy had approached the Supreme Court yesterday. The filmmaker is in quest of stay on the release of the 1975-hit, Sholay’s 3D version made by his nephew Sasha over a copyright row. The hearing of the petition filed by Sippy will take place today before a bench headed by Chief Justice P. Sathasivam.
Ramesh Sippy is the proud maker of this all time hit movie and has moved the apex court against the refusal of Bombay High Court on its stay. Sasha claims that Sippy has no rights over the film; therefore, he can’t go up against the release of Sholay’s 3D version. More inputs will be shared soon as and when pour in.
