Ranveer Singh Apologises For His Sexist Ad!

Bajirao Mastani actor Ranveer Singh recently appeared in a print ad for Jack and Jones which was deemed sexist by several people online. The hoarding showed Ranveer carrying a woman on his shoulder with the text “Don’t hold back. Take your work home”. Actor Siddharth of Rang De Basanti fame tweeted the photo and taunted towards its sexist nature. Ranveer also realized the derogatory ad and apologized for it.

“A new low for women's rights in the workplace in India. What were they thinking? #Fail”, read Siddharth’s post. Ranveer then released a public statement according to Bollywoodlife.com which said, “It was important to give the brand creative freedom while designing their campaign, but I guess we got it wrong on one of those billboards and I’m sorry this happened but it’s a thing of the past…We rectified it immediately by having that hoarding taken down ASAP from everywhere over 30 cities overnight. I treat all women with the utmost respect both professionally and personally and would never do anything to disrespect them”.

Ranveer was quite brave and straight forward with his apology which shows that he is a good human being. On the work front, the actor will soon be seen in ‘Befikre’ alongside Vani Kapoor. Directed by Aditya Chopra, the movie will hit theaters on December 9.
