The Bombay High Court will give the final verdict on Shahid Kapoor’s ‘Udta Punjab’ tomorrow. The film has remained in the limelight for the past couple of weeks. The Central Board of Film Certification has ordered over 90 cuts in the film to which the makers have raised objection. Many biggies of the film industry have come in support for the team of the film and now director Rohit Shetty is also backing them up.

The filmmaker said that the censor board has no right to ask the makers to remove Punjab from the title of the flick. He said, “The rule states that Censor Board should react only after a political party or an organisation raises objection. Has anyone sent them any letter? Without the letter they don’t have the right to remove Punjab from the title. Will the producer and director release it as Udta?”.

Rohit added that such incidents have happened in the past and will happen in future as well. He urged the industry to come together to settle it once and for all. The Abhishek Chaubey directorial is slated for a June 17 release, but if it fails to get the certificate by tomorrow then it won’t release on the scheduled date.
