    Salim Khan Defends Salman’s Appointment As Olympic Ambassador

    As soon as it was announced that Salman Khan has been chosen as the goodwill ambassador of the Indian contingent for forthcoming Rio Olympics 2016, the cyberspace went buzzing with ample of jokes explaining why the superstar is a poor choice. Not only the Bajrangi Bhaijaan star was cornered by his haters but even the sports fraternity gave mixed reactions to the same. Legendary sprinter Milkha Singh affirmed that a sportsperson was a better choice and stated that the decision shall be revised.

    After hearing the comments, Salman’s father Salim Khan took a dig at the whole scenario by tweeting, “Salman Khan may not have competed but is an A level swimmer cyclist and weight lifter. Sportsmen are performing because of sports lovers like us”. In of one of the other tweets, he wrote, “Milkhaji it is not Bollywood it is the Indian Film Industry and that too the largest in the world. The same industry which resurrected you from fading away in oblivion”.

    While sportspersons like wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt also opposed the decision, wrestler Sangram Singh stood on Salman’s side. The ex-Bigg Boss contestant said, “Why not Salman Khan? He is a superstar — not only in India, but all over the world. If his name is associated with sports, it is bound to benefit all sports activities in India”.
