Shaandaar Mints 13.1 Crores On Opening Day

Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Shaandaar, which was highly anticipated film, might have received mixed reviews from the critics and audiences, but the film has done quite a decent business at the box office. The Vikas Bahl directorial has minted Rs. 13.1 crores on its opening day. With that, the romantic-comedy film has become the sixth highest grosser film of the year.

The release of the film on Dusshera has turned out to be in favour of the flick’s collections. Further, the heavy promotions done by the lead actors, Alia and Shahid is one other reason that has helped the film gather more footsteps to the cinema halls. Now, that the weekend is approaching, the film’s business is expected to grow even further.

Other reason that brings the movie to the limelight is having Sanah Kapoor playing one of the pivotal roles. Sanah Kapoor, who is Shahid Kapoor’s half sister is making debut in Bollywood with this film. Shaandaar also stars the Haider actor’s father Pankaj Kapur, portraying the role of Alia’s father in the film.
