Shahid Kapoor and his “baby wife” Mira Rajput have snagged more best couple awards recently than we care to count. Wednesday, on the ramp of Lakme Fashion Week 2018, the couple showed what makes them such a media darling. As Mira and Shahid turned showstoppers for Anita Dongre, they decided to showcase their personality instead of just catwalking.

Shahid was dressed in an ivory sherwani and Mira wore a lehenga choli, and the designer – predictably – tweeted, “Here’s our bride and groom.”

Shahid tweeted about his experience, “Excited to have walked for @anitadongre ‘s @lakmefashionwk collection tonight. Great to see creations that will truly define #FutureCouture, designed with exclusive fabrics of the future from R | Elan @RElanOfficial.”

Shahid, who plays Maharawal Ratan Singh in the Sanjay Leela Bhansali -directed period drama Padmaavat, said the team had to endure a lot in “these past one-and-a-half years”. Speaking to the reporters at LFW, he said, “We missed out on a lot of things. We had to make lots of sacrifices. We had to learn to keep a lot of emotions in our hearts for one-and-a-half years in check. We had to be politically correct. The film had to go through a lot. But, today we feel vindicated.”
