Shahid, Ranveer In Rohit Shetty’s Ram Lakhan Remake?

From young talents like Ranveer Singh, Arjun Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra to names like Ranbir Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan, speculations about the cast of Rohit Shetty’s remake of Ram Lakhan have been doing the rounds from quite some time. Now as per the latest buzz, Shahid Kapoor is under consideration for the role of Ram, which was played by Jackie Shroff in the original. However, nothing can be said to be confirmed until an official announcement is made.

A source close to Mid-day has revealed, “Out of all the names being tossed for Lakhan's part, Ranveer was the first choice. Also, last year Anil Kapoor, who played Lakhan, had said that Ranveer was perfect for the role. As for Ram's character, it was decided that Shahid would be an ideal pick. The actors, however, have not signed on the dotted line”.

The source added, “The makers are looking for fresh faces to essay Madhuri Dixit and Dimple Kapadia's characters and the project is likely to go on floors by end of the year. Once everything is finalised, an official announcement will be made”. When the leading daily contacted Rohit Shetty, he said that he is still working on the script and nothing is confirmed as yet.
