Shenaz Treasury ditches TV for the web; says not many people watch it nowadays

Shenaz Treasurywala, who has acted in films such as Ishq Vishk and Delhi Belly, has also been a part of various American TV shows. However, the actor has no interest in doing TV anymore. Apparently, Shenaz feels that not many people watch TV these days and the current generation is mostly glued to the web.

“You’re going to see more of me, but not necessarily on TV. I’m more interested to work on digital platforms now. I also have new concepts in mind for my Instagram page and YouTube channel. But yes, I am open to hosting on the small screen. I think I’m really good at that and I totally enjoy doing it,” says the actor, who worked in shows such as The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore, One Life to Live and Brown Nation.

Shenaz has been living in the US for the last seven years now, and was doing TV and films there. She recently returned to India and is currently shooting for Sabbir Khan’s Munna Michael, and Akshat Verma’s Kaalakaandi. Besides, Shenaz is really excited about her upcoming American film, The Big Sick, directed by Michael Showalter, where she plays Anupam Kher’s daughter-in-law.

Given the good offers that are coming her way in India, Shenaz now plans to balance work here, and abroad. “I am planning to go back and forth and balance my work in both the countries,” she adds.

On being asked about her character in Munna Michael and Kaalakaandi, Shenaz adds, “I can’t really tell much about it (Munna Michael) except the fact that I’m at a stage where I’ve made a decision that I prefer doing small roles in big films rather than big roles in smaller ones. As far as Kaalakaandi, I play a vibrant, bold, very Sex and the City kind of a party girl in Mumbai.”
